The nation's birthday -- the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It's a day of picnics and patriotic parades, a night of concerts and fireworks. The flying of the American flag (which also occurs on Memorial Day and other holidays) is widespread, though not as prevalent as in the past.

I'm going to stay home this year and relax. Today I'm getting a cooler ready with my Dr Peppers plus I'm buying a couple pork steaks and some charcoal. My flag pole mounting bracket is freshly 3d printed so I'm going to hang my new American flag high and proud as well. 'Merica!
